From the President: Oct 2018

I hope this letter finds each of you well and achieving the goals you have for your businesses

as year-end quickly approaches. The board and I hope that you have not been affected by the severe weather that has hit many of Maryland’s counties. Some are suffering devastating losses. We are hoping that you, your employees and families remain safe.

The leadership of TRPM has been working hard to establish good relationships with our state, federal and local agencies so they will work with us in developing policies and procedures for services in our industry that meet the needs of the consumer and our industry.

The Legislative committee has been in dialogue with Maryland State Police regarding an

upgrade to their towing policy and procedures. As of today, the process is on hold until after the election. We will be actively requesting meetings once the leadership is in place. We have also had discussions with State Highway regarding Major Incident Heavy Duty Towing program and policies. This too should resume once the new staff is appointed.

I hope you read the e-mail updates that TRPM sends out to you. Maryland Motor Truck sends FMCSA updates and we feel that these are of the utmost importance to you and your business.

TRPM will be in Booth #4703 at the American Towman Expo. I hope you will stop by and talk

with us and share any concerns that you may have or make suggestions as to how TRPM might help your company. Don't forget that you can get your TIM Training on Friday morning, November 16, 2018 at the Expo, at no charge.

The Annual TRPM Meet N' Greet will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at Michael's 8th

Avenue in Glen Burnie form 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by TRPM Associate Members and it’s always a good time to interact with other towers and businesses in the industry. I hope you can come! Help us show our vendors how much we appreciate them.

Since this will be the last newsletter for 2018, I would like to wish each of you a Happy

Thanksgiving and a Merry Holiday Season.

Blessings to you, your family and business team!

Pat McElroy
