MINUTES - Western General Meeting March 5, 2025

A meeting of the Towing and Recovery Professionals of Maryland (TRPM), a Maryland Non-Profit Association, took place on March 5th 2025 at Dutch’s Daughter, located at 581 Hines RD Frederick MD 21703..

Call to Order at 709PM

 

Ted called the Western General meeting to order at 709PM, and Charles, the Secretary, recorded the minutes.

Charles led us in the pledge of allegiance.

Ted asked Deb to lead us in the prayer

 

Ted then announced we will take a Dinner Break at 715PM

Ted then called the meeting back to order at 755PM

 

Ted then welcomed everyone and asked if everyone had received a copy of the previous minutes as well as the flyers at the front table, Ted also reminded all members of the anti-trust laws and if they understood to which all insinuated yes.

 

Ted then started with the table in the front for everyone to introduce themselves.

 

Ted then asked if there were any questions regarding the October general minutes from the last meeting. Martha moved to approve the previous minutes, and Wayne seconded the motion. All voted in favor, and the motion carried.

Ted introduced all associate members present and thanked them for their continuous support.

Ted then introduced special guest Lt. Matthew Carrado, and Jenny Henneberry both with the Frederick City police dept. Who then spoke and stated they were here to help and learn from our Industry what is going on.

 

Ted then asked Dustin, Western Regional Director, to address any issues or concerns they may be experiencing. Dustin discussed several developments in the region . However, there are still ongoing rotational issues for heavy equipment calls managed by the State Police.

 

Ted requested reports from the Committee Chairs.

 

Charles, legislative committee chair, discussed the Electronic Bills that took effect on October 1, 2024, and the forthcoming electronic Bill for registered owners that was introduced in 2025. Charles also went over language and status of the following Bills-SB635, SB484/HB487, HB915, SB0883, HB0846, HB191/SB0040, HB1405. He also presented the outcomes from the meeting with the HB1002 committee and updates, as well as TRAA report to include but not limited to that the Junk Fee issue had been removed.

Will, the education committee chair, announced upcoming classes including responder training on 10/13/2025 as well as upcoming hands on heavy wrecker classes and upcoming E.V. classes, will be doing additional insurance invoice writing classes, and various other hands-on sessions.

Ted then moved on to nominations for upcoming election- the following nominations were made uncontested and will be acclimated at June general meeting-2nd VP-Dustin Wiles, Secretary-Charles Parrish, Treasurer- Deb Sullivan, the following have been and accepted for Directors at Large-Wayne Sullivan, Martha Banks, Steve Geyer, Tim Bonner, the following were not present and need to be asked if wishing to remain on Board- Phil Robinson, Marc Sylver(Vinny is investigating the matter to see if election will be needed)

Charles then asked Steve palmer to represent TRPM at Florida Tow show for the TRAA meeting, to which Steve accepted.

Ted then did the Big cash Drawing for January-winner was 142 Hubbell towing, February-winner was 0010 Wayne Sullivan, March-winner was 232 Brady Redmond.

Deb then did the 50/50 drawing to which Charles Parrish won.

Adjournment

Ted then with there no further discussion to come before the meeting, Charles made a motion to adjourn and Dustin 2nd the meeting was adjourned at 936PM
