A meeting of the Towing and Recovery Professionals of Maryland (TRPM), a Maryland Non-Profit Association, was held on March 6th, 2024 at 581 Hines RD Frederick Md 21703 known as Dutch’s Daughter.
Call to Order at 650PM.
Vince called the meeting to order at 650pm and Dustin acting Secretary recorded minutes. Vince thanked everyone for attending and reminded everyone of the Anti-Trust laws dealing with pricing.
Vince then asked Vince 3rd to lead us in the pledge of allegiance.
Vince then asked all in attendance to introduce themselves, starting to his right and to continue around the room.
Vince then recognized our associate members and identified them one by one to speak on their companies to which Josh (Auto-Direct) & Mike (Copart) all took a turn speaking to the members.
Vince then announced we will take a Dinner Break to which Will Cain gave the blessing, and for all to help themselves to the Buffet, time is 700PM.
Vince then called the meeting back to order at 736PM.
Vince then welcomed everyone and asked if everyone had received a copy of the previous Northern General meeting minutes as well as the flyers at the front table, Wayne made a motion to except minutes, Will Cain 2nd the motion with there being no discussion vote was taken all in favor motion carried minutes adopted.
Vince then introduced our special guest Lt. Thomas, current commander of the professional Services Department and the Special Response team at the Frederick Police department. Lt. Thomas spoke briefly and answered all questions.
Dustin as Western regional Director, then discussed any new news and events that are upcoming, with most of the focus on the newly passed State police pricing on February 21st, 2024, and the annual Bull Roast in April.
Vince then explained why Charles and Ted were not present due to be at the TRAA “AT THE HILL” conference and asked Wayne to fill in to which between Wayne and Vince they covered the legislative matters such as HB1002 passing and being signed, Junk Fee on the national level, electronic bill in the house and senate in MD along with the possession Lien Bill both moving through chambers.
Vinny then asked Will to speak on the Education classes, at present nothing planned but does have light duty and rollback planned around June/July in the Annapolis area.
Vinny then asked Deb and Martha to speak on the newly founded scholarship fund to which both explained what the plans are but should be finalized within another month and will start in 2025.
Vinny then opened the floor to all members to discuss any issues concerning them, after brief discussion lobbyist cost and Frederick County adopting State police pricing were main subjects.
BIG Cash Drawing
Vinny then did the 3 scheduled Big Cash Drawing to which for January winner was ticket 176 Deb Sullivan who immediately donated winnings to Scholarship fund, February winner was ticket 129 Henry’s who immediately donated to scholarship fund, and March winner was ticket 49 Sullivans garage who also immediately donated back to scholarship fund.
50/50 Drawing
Vinny then did the 50/50 drawing with a jackpot of $325.00 dollars to the winner who was Mike from Copart who also donated back to the scholarship fund.
Vinny then wanted to remind everyone of the next General meeting would be the Eastern regional most likely being held at the Suicide Bridge restaurant in Cambridge MD.
Adjournment
Vinny with no further discussion or topics announced next General meeting will be in the Easter Region June 5th, 2024, time and place to be determined. Dustin then made a motion to adjourn Wayne 2nd the motion all were in favor meeting adjourned 900PM
